i did it

i went to the gym two nights in a row. it's easier when i don't have kickball 3 days a week messing up my schedule. during the fall season we had games on thursdays and fridays and practices on sundays. i didn't want to do weights the day before a game, and risk showing up sore and sluggish, so i had to do weights on mondays and tuesdays, then cardio on wednesdays. then i'd have to do my third weight day on saturday, and count sunday, thursday, and friday as cardio days. it just felt very awkward.

now that the season is over, i can do a regular mon/wed/fri weights and tues/thurs cardio thing. much better.

we'll see if i can stick with it...

i went to the gym last night for the last time in... months. the last entry on my workout log is from our anniversary (sept 2). according to my records, though, i've only put on about two pounds, which is really nothing, and i haven't lost or gained any body fat. so even though i haven't worked out, i've done pretty well at maintaining. guess that may have something to do with playing kickball 3 days a week...

anyway, i did a half hour of cardio then upper body. i forgot my knee braces and when i tried to do leg lifts my knee caps kept popping so i said forget that. i'll do legs later. apparently it was a good workout, though, because i was exhausted and shaking afterward which i haven't had in quite some time. today i'm very sore, which i'm going to take as a good sign. it's sore in a good way, not sore like i hurt something, so that's progress. tonight i'm going to try to get in about 45 minutes of cardio and do abs, because when i went to do that last night all the machines and the incline benches and everything were all taken up, and there's not really any floor space to just lay down and do something. then friday i'll try to do legs.

let's see if i can get back into this.
