days
bryan has been out of town since july 21st. first to phoenix, then san fran, now back to phoenix. i won't see him again until august 21st, when we both head to new york for (yet another) kickball tournament.
it's been quiet around the house which is both good and bad.
i haven't had anyone else keeping me awake at night with video games or talking on the phone or whatever else. at the same time, though, the house makes odd noises and i often find myself sitting up in bed wondering what i just heard and if i'm going to be killed in my sleep. i keep the motion sensor porch lights turned on all night and all the doors locked, dead bolted, and barricaded with chairs and ladders and other things that would make a lot of noise if someone tried to come in.
consequently, even though there's nobody in the house to keep me awake, there's also nobody in the house to protect me if someone from the outside tries to get in, so i'm still not sleeping. i find myself pacing the house at all hours, wishing i had a companion. someone to talk to other than the tv or the spider in the kitchen.
on the flip side, i've been getting up at around 8 am every weekend and being very productive for as long as i feel like it. the living room, kitchen, hallway, bathroom, and master bedroom are the cleanest they've been since we moved in. everything neat and tidy and put away... everything is so clean and white. it makes me very happy but the thought of what's going to happen when bryan comes home makes me panic. the thought of dirty hand prints all over my nice clean door frames makes me feel like i have worms under my skin.
i've gotten most everything in my sewing room all tidied up, moved to proper plastic bins instead of cardboard boxes, and labeled so i don't have to hunt around and guess where i put something. i've pulled out all the boxes of bryan's things that we need to go through when he gets home.
i haven't been grocery shopping since he left, except when i need supplies here and there. i saved nearly $100 from the last two-week paycheck which i put towards paying off one of our 6 kickball registrations (don't worry, only 4 of them were actually for us...).
should have done more sewing.
