my schyzophrenic wardrobe
i really need to start taking pictures of my daily wardrobe, ala valette. some days i am hot. others i'm just a hot mess.
yesterday i had a cute little knee-length high-waisted pencil skirt in a black wool with tan and teal plaid stripes running through it, paired with a little pull-over tan vest/white button-down shirt, and some caramel pumps. my hair was behaving and doing this cute little curl thing, pulled back on one side, with my make-up on point (for the first 10 or so minutes anyway. see yesterday's post for more info on THAT whole issue...) which altogether made me look really pulled together and professional. i got lots of compliments and was feeling pretty sassy.
today it's ill-fitting brown slacks that i had to pin together in the back because they are hand-me-downs and way too big in the waist (haven't had a chance to take them in), a green button-down that looks like a sack on me with absolutely no curve definition, the same caramel pumps from yesterday, and a purple sweater that's about four sizes too big. with no make-up and my hair pulled back in a ragged ponytail this look says "i don't really care at all today. leave me alone."
tomorrow? who knows. i've got a pile of clothes that i need to alter to make them fit me properly, which includes both the purple slacks and the brown slacks that i made, which fit me fine in the hip and thigh area, but are inches too large in the waist so they sag and bunch unattractively.
