i needed the fresh air anyway

i got a call this morning from bryan's mom, frantic because she was at the rec center and she had locked all of her belongings in her car. purse, wallet, phone, etc. bryan has a spare key, but he had gotten up early to do some stuff then went home to take a nap. between the nyquil, the hum of the a/c and the phone surely being on silent, there's no way i could wake him, so i ran down and hopped in my car and started driving back to our house (~20 miles) to get the car key to take to her at the rec center (no idea where it is).

i got about halfway there when she called me to say that someone found her key in the parking lot and i didn't need to bring her bryan's key after all.

that's just super

for no apparent reason my face has decided that now would be an ideal time to break out. maybe it's related to the make-up the other day... maybe it's the weather change... maybe it's because i'm having one of "those" weeks... maybe it's stress... diet... lack of exercise... who knows.

at least i don't have anything going on that's going to require me being in close-up pictures any time soon.

just like a commercial

now that my hair is getting long again (brushing my shoulders) i've started using conditioner on the ends. combined with the "extra volume for fine hair" shampoo i've been using, my hair is suddenly silky smooth and all sorts of curly. it's pretty awesome.

less polished and more ewwww...

normally i don't wear make up. i have pretty well behaved skin most of the time aside from an errant bump here and there, usually on my chin or the side of my nose. i like my freckles and gladly embrace them, and especially right now i've had a little sun and actually have what could be construed as a tan on me. the only thing i usually use is a little eye liner and mascara.

more than that, though, when i was in middle school i did pageants. when i was in hs i did theater and took modeling classes. i discovered i really didn't like the feeling of foundation on my skin. i hate the smell and the way it feels greasy. i do have a bit of a problem with dry skin, so i use moisturizer every day, but it doesn't give me the problems that foundation does. when i feel like i really need foundation i go with a powder foundation.

slowly finding them

my MIA classmates list just got one person shorter. last week i discovered that i had an old email address for kevin purdy in my address book. i sent an email to it and got a reply back! he's not dead of a drug overdose! he may still be in hiding somewhere, but at least i have confirmed that he's still out there somewhere.

also, last week i found ian findley on facebook. lol

oh, and i did manage to track down spanky. while i didn't get a chance to talk to him directly, i did talk to his dad and pass along my contact info. knowing he was being shipped out to korea, then none of us ever heard from him again was distressing. i'm just happy to know that he too is ok.

jealousy

bryan's mom got a kitten. her dog, who is used to being an only child, and has always been a bit of an attention whore anyway, got jealous and tried to shove me away from the kitten. unfortunately, he did it by slamming his head into my face at a high rate of speed.

i now have a bruise on my right cheekbone, right below my eye. thanks, charlie.
