making and breaking

missed the gym to drive bryan to danny's to assemble his engine. had taco bell for dinner. discovered we were missing a key part needed to assemble the engine and we really can't do anything else without it. went to jimmy's house to try to fix his horn, only to discover it's not a wiring issue, the actual horn is dead. ended up falling asleep on their couch until 3 am while bryan and jimmy drank.

slept in today until nearly noon. was planning to be up by 8 or 9 to hit the gym. whole body hurts. thinking i ought to go work on that shirt instead. contemplating a bologna sandwich. desperately need a shower.

b is planning on going to the ghent bar crawl tonight with trey and eric and a bunch of other people that i have no desire to be anywhere near while they are drunk. he's planning on staying at trey's tonight. trey has bunk beds.

there is a 70% chance of rain tomorrow at the fields and a slated high of 42 degrees, which means there is a very good chance we won't be playing tomorrow so i likely won't see him until late tomorrow afternoon. maybe i'll take tomorrow to clean the house while he's gone.

recycling

we don't have a recycling program at work so i've started hanging on to all the plastic grocery bags i take to work, and using them to save all the bottles, cans, and boxes we use at work and taking them home to put in our recycling bin. makes me feel better.

i'm not quite to the point where i am taking home the paper recycling, though i certainly have considered it.

love/hate

one of the women in my office has two daughters that sell girl scout cookies. yesterday someone opened a box of samoas and set it on the counter in the kitchen here. i ate three of them but then walked away.

when i came back this morning, there were just three left in the box, sitting all alone on the counter. i had to save them from their misery.

toning it down

the air vent over my desk has been pretty quiet lately for the first half of the day. normally it sounds like a jet from 7:55 am to 4:55 pm, but recently it's been a nice breeze for the first couple hours of my day. i can actually carry on conversations with people standing outside of my office again. i had begun to forget what that was like.

we were supposed to have guests over the weekend, but they ended up coming into town on saturday afternoon then leaving in the evening and not staying with us. i was pretty bummed because i had torn apart my sewing room so they could use the futon.
