cleaning day

bryan is out of town for a falconry meet. i had every intention of going to the gym, but when i tried yesterday i found that the brakes on my car were frozen again (because i'm a dummy and forgot to park it with the ebrake off, even though i knew it was going to freeze overnight) and i may have ice in the system from not putting coolant in it (just water) after we swapped out the water pump a few weeks ago. oops. so i'm not going anywhere until it's warm enough for my car to thaw out.

isolated

there is no window near my desk. during the day, i have no idea what's going on outside. most days i assume it's sunny and bright, with blue skies and chirping birds and green green grass, but often i'll walk out of the office for a moment, passing the window on my way out, and find that in fact we're having some major storm that nobody informed me of. it could be snowing and i'd never know. we could be in the midst of a tornado, with cows flying past, hail the size of baseballs, and lightning striking just feet from our door, and i'd have no clue unless someone said something.

because i'm a clutz

last night as i was getting ready to head home from work i leaned over to grab my tennis shoes from under my desk and slammed my head into the edge of the desk, just below my right eyebrow.

now i have a bruise. smooth.
