we got back to virginia on the night of the 21st. it snowed here on that day, so our return flights were pretty bumpy. bryan loved it. me, not so much. because i didn't buy our tickets at the same time, i couldn't get us on the same return flight. he was supposed to get in an hour before me. his flight was delayed about a half hour. mine was an hour and a half late.

if we had gotten in a few hours earlier, we would have been able to play in the last round of playoffs for our friday kickball team. their tournament was supposed to have been the weekend before, but because the week of the first round of playoffs was rained out three weeks before, they pushed everything back a week. so instead of the tournament being on the sunday while we were in oregon, it ended up being the saturday after we got back.

we played in the tournament the day after we got back. it barely got above freezing all day. i was wearing so many layers i could barely run. we won our division championship but lost to the wednesday. we didn't play our best, and made some silly mistakes, but the reffing was horrifically bad. oh well.

so now that kickball is over, the kickballers are sad and missing the social interaction. we're all organizing fun things like bar nights, karaoke nights, pajama parties, hockey games, marathons... such camaraderie. it's great.

the following work week was only 2.5 days long, because of the thanksgiving holiday. good because, really, who doesn't love a short week? but also bad because i hardly got anything done at work. but also good because now i have an extra long weekend to dedicate to that side job that i haven't had nearly enough time to work on. but bad because there's so much other stuff to do during that time period as well, like spending time with family, and making jeans, and going to hs reunions, and doing karaoke.

bryan and jimmy went out again on thanksgiving night to camp in front of best buy because jimmy wanted a big screen tv. bryan did it just because. he got on tv again this year so i have to remember to check the dvr on monday for that segment. channel 10 news yesterday.

on top of it all, my car, currently our only transportation, seems to have sprung a pretty massive leak in the vicinity of the water pump. we have to constantly fill it up with water so it doesn't overheat. it's a huge pita.

plus we managed to drive over something with a nail in it on the way home from the airport the night we got into town, so now i have to buy a new tire. it's plugged for now, but we also discovered that my right rear tire has a pretty massive flat spot, and my front tires are cracking around the edges and about to split right open. FUN! :(
