working at a tv station during an election is a big deal. a lot of things are going on at once, and everyone is watching to catch you making a mistake.

this year we have decided to try something new. something splashy and fancy. our department head requested it, but my supervisor will be the actual one working with it on screen. behind the scenes, they needed someone to make it work so that it looked flawless on screen, and my supervisor immediately requested me and nobody else. she told me later that i'm the only one she could trust to do it right under the pressure.

i'm touched and honored and so excited. even though the election isn't until may 6th, i already have my piece done, at least in a preliminary form. since it was his idea, i asked the department head for his input this morning. he had a couple comments, such as the text is going to be too small, and those colors might be a little too dark, but otherwise he was very impressed with what i had done.
