vacation
this weekend bryan and i will be going to visit his dad and step mom in charlottesville, va. i'm pretty excited. it's a nice drive, it's very pretty country up there in the mountains, they are great people and i always enjoy spending time with them, plus it means one more weekend that i can put off working on the cupboards. lol
not sure if we'll be back in time for kickball practice tomorrow. though as nasty as the weather has been, it'll probably get called off anyway.

curious changes
i've been doing my best to eat healthy lately. lots of dairy, fresh fruits, whole grains, and water. when i went grocery shopping last week i found a cheddar cheese flavored cup 'o' noodles. it looked interesting so i got one and had it for lunch today.
my body is now in revolt for having force fed it such high sodium junk food. i fully expect to be sick for the remainder of the afternoon.

thwarted
i drank both of my bottles of water already today and am still thirsty. our office administrator keeps bottled water and cans of pop in the fridge, which we can purchase for $.25 each. after doing bryan's laundry the other day, i had a whole ton of pennies left over, so i decided to buy a water with 25 pennies.
too bad we're out of bottles of water.

ign'ant
one of my co-workers is one of those people who sends out every chain letter or questionably legit email sent to her. from warnings of gang initiations at the local mall to virus scares in emails to lawyers doing stupid things and now tourists oblivious to sharks.
every time she sends one of these out, i look it up then reply to her with the link dispelling whatever it is that she's trying to pass off as truth. every time she tells me "oh, i usually check snopes before i send these things out. i just forgot this time."
finally today she sent a public apology to everyone she had emailed, saying that in the future she would double check every one before she sent it out.

seeing results
as of this morning i am about 1/4" away from being able to say i have a 26" waist. i'm just a hair over 26.5". i could tug on the tape measure and lie, or suck it in and pretend, but really if i can reasonably get to just under that half inch mark, i can claim i have a 26" waist. same with my butt. i'm almost down to where i can claim it's at 39". hips haven't gone down from 35", and thighs are still at 23", but i'm starting to see results in places.
also, today is the third day in a row that the scale has read 130 lbs. in racing if you make a record time, they make you repeat it to prove it wasn't a fluke. since i seem to be holding steady at that weight, i feel pretty safe in saying that i now weigh 130 lbs. hopefully in the next week or so, i'll break in to the 120's. that would be pretty exciting. i'll try to get a picture of the scale when it happens.

goodwill pile
today i was out of clean nice clothes, so i just grabbed a pair of pants out of the closet and wore them. they happen to be a pair of drawstring pants that i had gotten from goodwill a year or two ago. unfortunately they were a bit big on me even when i bought them, and shouldn't have ever worn them, really. but they were like $3 and i needed clothes.
now that i've started losing weight, they REALLY don't fit me. sure, i could cinch the waist in tighter, since they are drawstring, but then they'd look like a burlap sack tied on with twine. either way, not a good look on me.
guess it's time to return them from whence they came, for some other poor schmuck to wear.

monitor snob
at work i use a crt monitor. it's several years old, black, and pretty big by today's standards, but works better than just about any lcd monitor i've ever seen.
previously, i was actually running two crt's, side-by-side (a 20" viewable and a 21" viewable), but when i was upgraded from a desktop to a laptop with docking station, i was no longer able to run my two vga monitors. the docking station had one vga port and one dvi-d port, not the dvi-i port i was told it would have. apparently none of the dell docking stations have dvi-i, only dvi-d.

wuhoo!
the scale this morning said 130.4 lbs, so i decided to celebrate by wearing a skirt and i keep catching glimpses of myself in the mirror on the wall in our office. i gotta admit, i have some pretty damn nice calves.

not so bad after all
sunday morning my brother called me. i don't often hear from my brother, so it was a nice surprise. we ended up talking for more than two hours about everything from the Mr. Men to why it's important to have music in your life.
knowing he'd been having some pretty tough times over the past couple years, i did my best to just listen and let him talk through some things.

manners
most normal people do not call people between 10/11 pm and 7/8 am. most POLITE people do not call people between 9 pm and 10 am.
so you calling us at 2:15 am to tell us that the truck of the guy that you met at the bar won't start? definitely considered a little on the rude side.
just for future reference.
