new toys
back when we were rearranging furniture, we discovered that my co-worker, blair's chair was really gross. things were growing in the cracks between the seat and the arms. after some math, we realized that it had been in the department for at least 20 years (it was here when the department head started here 20 years ago) and has been through at least 6 different people in 4 different job positions just in the time that we've had it.
shortly thereafter blair got a new chair.
it's a special breathable mesh chair, with all sorts of ergonomic supports, and adjustments on every conceivable part. we decided that it's so nice, we needed to get two more, for the two people in our office with back problems. and while we're at it, let's order a chair for april too, since technically april's chair belongs to lizz. as in, lizz brought it from her house. and lizz would kinda like it back.
now, normally i'm not a big fan of spending money unnecessarily, but in this case i'm not going to argue at all. my chair has never been comfortable for me. it's always the wrong height, the arm rests are so low that i can't even reach them without slouching or leaning, there is no tilt control so i always feel like i'm leaning forward, the seat is too shallow so i feel like i'm always falling off...
the two for the people with back problems both arrived last night and we assembled them both today. mine should be here today or tomorrow.
now if only they worked this quickly to get me a desk!
