i'm averaging 4 stars per song on my first try which really isn't too bad, all considered. i've got 5 stars on all the easy and medium songs and fully believe that after a little while i'll start getting 5 stars on hard. 100% may be way out of my grasp, but heck, it's not like i'm getting 100% on easy or medium, so i'm not expecting it out of hard.

though i do have to say, some of these songs start to make a lot more sense when you add more notes. some of the rhythms are so intricate that when you take notes out they actually get more complicated because you're missing pieces. you have to have them all in there. "maps" by the yeah yeah yeah's is actually an excellent example of this.

as much as bryan's going to hate me for this, i kindof love playing "enter sandman". at least on medium. the drum part fits really well with the music and it's such an awesome song. we had our buddy mike over the other night and he and bryan were totally rockin' it on guitar. it was like being in a real band. complete with the synthesized audience freaking out on the surround sound. it was great. now if only we had a singer who wasn't completely without rhythm...
