might not happen

i really wanted to get autumn and ryan to lion's arch before january 1st which is when the finale is being held of the winter holiday events. if we don't get them there before midnight tuesday night/wednesday morning, they will have to wait another year to see it and by then they may have moved on to other things (like Factions) and it won't be nearly as impressive. but between christmas at bryan's mom's tonight, bryan's dad and step mom coming to town for the weekend, and parties on new years even and day, i'm just not sure how much playing we're going to get done. i am willing to sacrifice monday to help them get through instead of working on my pants while bryan is out bird watching, but i don't know if they have to work then, and being 3 time zones ahead of them means we lose time on both sides of the day. darn the time zones...

killing time

so what will i do with my newfound spare time in the evenings? why, make clothes, of course.

i'm not sure what makes me think i can make clothes, after making a quilt and realizing how hard a time i have with straight lines, but i have decided that i need work clothes. i have a sewing machine and darnit, i mean to use it.

and now i'm sick

we were in oregon more than a week. in that whole time i was a little sneezy, but not stuffed up or anything. my face/head/nose/eyes weren't swollen, i could breathe pretty normally, and i was generally fine.

after just one day back in virginia beach i was stuffed up, runny nosed, sneezing, coughing... my eyes, ears, and nose all swollen. my whole head hurt. generally feeling like someone needs to put me out of my misery.

i am definitely allergic to something in this house.

what do you do when taking a sick day is likely to actually make you worse?

yeah, probably not

most of you are probably not wondering where i've been, but i'm going to tell you anyway.

first off, on november 27th we had our inspection for the certificate of occupancy with the city of virginia beach. we were given a list of things to fix and 30 days to do them all before the second inspection. the first week was spent getting supplies to fix the things on the list, then the next two weeks were spent busting our asses to get everything taken care of. painting, sanding, finishing the floors, wiring... i didn't sleep for two weeks. i was exhausted. a lot got done, but my list was still long.
