screw off, repeal day
flipping through the intarwebs today, i came across an ad for something called Repeal Day. apparently some alcohol company has taken it upon themselves to deem December 5th a holiday, in honor of the day that the amendment which prohibited alcohol consumption was repealed, and are encouraging everybody to just drink up!
to those people, i have one thing to say...
fuck you...

fuck you...

fuck you...

and fuck you, too....

too many people in my life have spent too much of their lives, and mine, being drunk and worthless. too many people have used alcohol as excuse for their behavior, as an escape from their responsibilities, and as a means to cope with the fact that they alone are responsible for all the misery in their lives.
stress levels at work too high? have a drink. kids doing poorly in school? have a drink. put on a little weight? have a drink. don't have enough money to pay your bills? have a drink. can't sleep? have a drink. won a game? have a drink. mowed the lawn? have a drink. changed the oil in your car? have a drink. just plain bored? have a drink.
fucking worthless alcoholics, and you are encouraging them? and some itty bitty disclaimer on the bottom corner of your web site in 5 pixel high letters telling people to "prove your responsibility, not your capacity" does not constitute "encouraging restraint".
i have yet to see anything positive and good come from alcohol. from spring break to after parties to closet drinking... it results in nothing good.
would i like to bring back prohibition? no. i learned my history lesson, and i know enough human behavior to know that if it were prohibitied, like any other drug, it would be sought out in even larger quantities. i just wish it never existed in the first place.
unfortunately most humans are incapable of dealing with their own lives. human beings are constantly looking for the next fix, the next escape. whether cigarettes, drugs, alcohol, or whatever. human beings have for their entire history felt like they weren't good enough as they are, and must have some sort of chemical to alter themselves.
it's depressing and pathetic and yes, i look down on those people. i am 27 years old, i don't drink, i don't smoke, i don't do drugs, i try to take care of myself and stay healthy and the only real things that bring me down in life are as a direct result of the people around me doing those things.
fucking worthless, pathetic parasites.
