lead, follow, get out of the way

i'm not a groupie. i'm support staff. there's a difference. i do what needs to be done so other people can do what they do. it's because of the lack of more people like me that more people don't do what they should be doing.

hot and cold

it has remained quite warm here all the way through to this week. as of wednesday we were still suffering through 90+ degree days. it was just barely dipping into the mid 70's at night, and our a/c units were working non-stop. unfortunately, with as many window and door leaks as we've got, most of the cold air was going right out, so even with the units on "energy saving" mode, they'd turn off and a couple minutes later they'd turn right back on again.

but as of yesterday, the temps seem to be starting to break. last night was the first night in our new house that i needed something heavier than a light blanket through the night. i was actually shivering by the time bryan came to bed. it was such a nice change of pace...

then this morning i got up and took a nice hot shower.

tips for successful power napping

1 - shut the door, putting a note on it that says "out to lunch"

2 - turn down the lights

3 - turn on some "sleepy time" music

4 - put your phone on silent

5 - sleep

ambitious

i had big plans for the weekend. i accomplished very few of them. progress was made, but not nearly enough. guess what i'll be doing after work every day this week?
