counting the days

my baby is coming home. he's been gone since july 10th and the one thing i've learned from this is that i am eternally grateful that he didn't join the service. i just don't know how i could have handled him being gone for months and months at a time. it's just been making me nuts, and he's only been gone a few weeks.

i can't wait for him to come home. to hug him and kiss him and know that he's here when i go to sleep at night and still there when i wake up in the morning.

it's still a week and a half away, but knowing that there's an actual date makes it that much more bearable.

bite me

a guy at my work yesterday was talking about how he didn't remember large chunks of college because of all the drinking he did. i said i was thankful i didn't have that problem, because i didn't drink. he said "how the heck did you get any dates at all if you don't drink?" because apparently i have the personality of a rock and NOBODY would want to be around me sober. or something.

i know, i know

after four years of watching from the sidelines i was finally coerced into signing up for a kickball team. i may greatly regret the decision later but i told bryan that if he ever NEEDED me to sign up, i'd do it, because i love him.

their first game is thursday and as of last night they only had 3 girls registered. if they didn't get a 4th before wednesday, they couldn't become a team and wouldn't get to play this season, so it was decided that they NEEDED me to. begrudgingly i did it.

weekend update

sometimes it seems like just as i'm making progress and getting the place cleaned up, more messes are made. no sooner had i gotten the mold cleaned up than the termite guy came in, leaving concrete dust. no sooner did i get the concrete dust cleaned up than the construction guys came in, leaving construction dust. no sooner did i get the construction dust cleaned up than eric and jody came in to tear out the bathroom floor, level the living room floor, and remove the old shelves in the utility room, leaving all sorts of nastiness.

oooh... new toys

i got a new laptop at work to replace my rapidly-becoming-antiquated desktop. it's shiny and pretty and i want to lick it.

now if only they would have actually ordered that monitor stand and carrying case that we requested they order for me, but they decided i didn't really need.

sorry, but a 15" laptop is not going to fit in my purse, guys. though i suppose i could make one of these... or get one of these...

just for you, my love

this morning i went by the grocery store for my weekly supply of foodstuffs to keep at work. at the checkout counter a woman in front of me had a bottle of mt. dew. but it wasn't just any old bottle of mt. dew, this one's contents were orange, and the bottle had a picture that i instantly recognized.

i asked her where she got it and she pointed to the refrigerator case at the end of the aisle. i ran back and grabbed two: one for me, and one for bryan to have when he gets back, because i know he's going to want to keep the bottle.

where's my masseuse

i slept wrong last night and i am having all sorts of pains today, most noticeably in my neck. i can't turn my head to the left.

wish bryan was here to give me a neck rub... :(
