mighty mouse

i've started a workout journal. it's pretty boring reading, but some day when i get around to making a layout for it, i might link to it. then you can all see what i eat, how often i work out, and what i'm doing to try to get myself in shape.

last night i did an hour of step aerobics, then an hour of pilates. towards the end of pilates i was starting to be in pain, because working out that hard for that long makes my acid reflux really act up. especially since i haven't had a nexium in months. but other than that, it was good.

monday night i had intended to do a half hour of step, then a half hour of this class called "pain in the butt", which works the tummy, butt, and thigh areas, then an hour of step. but i got there late, so i missed the first half hour class. i did make it through the half hour of "pain in the butt", but about a half hour into the hour long step class, my heartrate was around 180, i was short of breath, i was sweating like crazy, my face was bright red, and i couldn't stand to watch myself flop around in the mirror anymore, so i called it a night. that was still a good hour long workout, but i would have liked to go longer. perhaps by next monday i'll be up to an hour and a half. *shrug* we'll see.

friday and saturday after work (yes, i'm working on the 4th of july, AND the next day) i need to do an hour of cardio at home, and sunday i'm going to attempt to get to the gym for some weights. if nothing else, i'll do the workout that shane gave me that doesn't require any equipment, plus an hour of cardio.

i've managed to get back down to 135.8 lbs, and i've stayed there all week so far, which is good. i'd really like to see 134 some time in the next month or two, but eh, that's probably not going to happen. i'm still working off that "cheese", i think... *drool* mmm.... "cheese".......

AHEM. ANYWAY...

it's amazing how much better i feel about myself when i work out regularly and eat right. just in the last week, since my eating has been given a schedule, and i've made sure to keep the right stuff available, i've seen changes in my body. nothing hugely drastic, but enough that i can notice.

hopefully i'll be able to keep a routine going, of some sort. i know i won't always have mondays off to be able to go to the "pain in the butt" class, but i'm going to try to keep doing the step classes and the pilates classes, and doing some cardio when i get home from work.

you love me

the most difficult thing for me is keeping a schedule. even if i could walk the dog consistently three times a week (or more), that would be enough to get me started. but do i stick to it? no. maybe once this week, thrice last week, once the week before - nothing consistent. bah.
