one week left
yesterday i found out that they've decided to hire this girl, anette, assuming her application goes through ok. her first day will be the 10th, which means my last day will be the 9th. i'm kindof torn on this. yeah, i know they need someone permanent, but i feel like i've just started getting the routine around here, and now i'm leaving. on the up side, nicole says that if this girl doesn't work out, they're definitely going to ask for me to come back. awww... warm fuzzies... sortof...
anyway, there haven't been any more fires this morning. *knock on wood, cross fingers, throw salt over shoulder* nicole was trying to tell jeremy that he needs to start watering the lawn and bark dust, but he got really indignant, and said that's just bullshit, it'll take too long, he doesn't want to do it, it's stupid, it's a waste of his time, blah blah blah. he thought she was being stupid in asking him to do it, she thought he was being really out of line in refusing to do it. i put it to him this way: you either take a few minutes to water everything down each morning, or you spend the rest of the summer fighting fires. which would you prefer? st. john's and oak knoll both have sprinkler systems. bagley is the only one that would have to be done by hand, and nicole is getting lawn sprinklers today, which will save a lot of time.
however, instead of fires, we got a prosecutor. yes, as in like "Law&Order" type prosecutor. apparently there was a robbery, and he needed to find a few of our tennants, who had been witnesses. unfortunately, one of them seems to have moved out, and while another is still on the lease, he appears to have moved out also. i haven't been here long enough to know what's going on with all that, so i wasn't of much help to him.
also, shelly is supposed to be back today, so it won't be just me and nicole running all 3 complexes. since nicole ditches me a lot, it's basically just me running two offices at 3 complexes. not fun.
so i wonder what kind of job i'll do next...
